Two years ago, Verbeek acquired an existing Hubbard parent stock facility in Prusice through the Erich Wesjohann Group (EW) network. Recently, a new hatchery was opened there.
The Dutch layer supplier Verbeek has opened a new hatchery in Prusice, Poland, with a capacity of 17 million chicks per year.
After introducing Novogen genetics in 2012, the company has been active in Poland with its own sales department, the company informs. The next expansion step was the construction of a new hatchery, which began last fall and was officially opened on June 5th for customers and business partners.
With over 50 million laying hens, Poland is one of the largest poultry markets in Europe. "Given our market share and growth potential in this region, it has long been our wish to have our own hatchery here," explains Managing Director Gerrit Morren of Verbeek chicks and hens.
Two years ago, Verbeek took over an existing Hubbard parent stock hatchery in Prusice, Western Poland, through the Erich Wesjohann Group (EW) network. Shortly thereafter, plans for a new construction began. "The hatchery is equipped with modern Petersime incubators and meets the highest requirements for climate control, incubation technology, and hygiene," says Morren.
The Polish poultry industry is characterized by large-scale production; herds of up to 150,000 pullets per delivery are not uncommon.
