The electric tractor E 904 i from the Chinese manufacturer Xeevo is already in series production and could become a competitor to the Fendt e100 Vario.
The Xeevo E 904 i is a battery-electric tractor from China. It could compete with the Fendt e100 Vario. Unlike the Fendt, the Xeevo tractor is powered by two electric motors and does not have a Vario transmission. Find out what else sets it apart.
With 90 horsepower and even 122 horsepower peak power, the Xeevo E 904 i aims to impress. But that's not all. There is an additional 90-horsepower motor for the PTO, also with 122 horsepower peak power. Taking losses into account, both motors have an effective power of 82 horsepower. To prevent overloading the system, the continuous power of both motors is limited to a total of 90 horsepower. For special power peaks, the system allows for a temporary increase in power to a maximum of 158 horsepower. Behind the electric tractor is the Chinese manufacturer ZSHX Advanced Tractors, which aims to revolutionize the market for electric tractors with the Xeevo.
To efficiently transfer the driving force to the ground, Xeevo installs a four-speed mechanical gearbox with top speeds of 5, 10, 20, and 30 km/h. However, driving is always stepless, making the gearbox comparable to the Vario tractor. The PTO has a gearbox with two speed ranges for speeds of 257 to 540 rpm and 476 to 1000 rpm.
Providing the necessary energy is an LFP battery from the Chinese manufacturer CATL with 105 kWh, which is similar in size to the e100 from Fendt. LFP stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate; the cell technology is known for its high energy density. A climate management system is designed to adapt the battery to ambient temperatures ranging from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius through a heating and cooling system. A battery management system is in place to protect against deep discharge, overcurrent, overheating, and cold.
According to the manufacturer, the Xeevo E 904 i uses a 600 V high-voltage platform for high conversion efficiency. Depending on working conditions, the tractor's range is expected to provide a total range of 4 to 8 hours. Charging is done at a maximum of 100 kW and is said to fully charge the battery in just one hour. Charging from 20 to 80 percent should only take 36 minutes.
The operator receives all necessary information through an intelligent touchscreen interface, including the operating status of the vehicle's components, as well as driving speed, battery status, and motor status. Various operating modes can be set, maintenance information can be accessed, and diagnostic checks can be performed.
The all-wheel-drive tractor has a length of 4.35 m with a width of 2.00 m. The cabin tractor's height is stated as 2.70 m. The standard rear tire size is 460/85 R30 and front is 320/70 R24. The permissible total weight is 6.5 t, with the rear lift (Cat I and II) capable of lifting a maximum of 2 t. The hydraulic pump for the working hydraulics delivers 30 l/min at 200 bar and comes with two double-acting electric valves. In the future, a front hydraulic system and a front loader will also be offered.
In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the ILAFA eG Radolfzell distributes the Xeevo. The dealer association already successfully markets small tractors under the Solis brand. The Xeevo E 904 i with touchscreen, electro-hydraulic control valves, and large agricultural tires starts at a price of 99,300 euros excluding VAT. During the market launch, a safety package is available for the tractor for five years, including warranty insurance, breakage insurance, and service and maintenance.
