French agricultural machinery manufacturer Carré declares bankruptcy

The French agricultural machinery manufacturer Carré is facing a crisis and is unable to pay its bills. Under the supervision of the Commercial Court, efforts are being made to turn things around.

In France, the Commercial Court of La Roche-sur-Yon has placed the agricultural machinery manufacturer Carré under receivership. The reason is the economic difficulties that the company has been facing for several months, as reported by the portal terre-net.fr. Due to a lack of liquidity, Carré is unable to meet its financial obligations.

Impact of the Ukraine war on Carré

In addition to the general reluctance of farmers to make purchases, the company is particularly suffering from the war in Ukraine. This is because one of the largest orders in the company's history fell through as a result: a contract signed in the fall of 2021 for 70 cultivators and stubble cultivation devices worth €1 million was terminated.

Insolvency proceedings to secure Carré's sustainability

As the company explains in a statement, the aim of the insolvency proceedings is now to ensure sustainability and preserve jobs. Although the term "judicial reorganization" may sound dramatic, it allows the company to seek protection under the Commercial Court and develop a restructuring plan while continuing production.

Carré offers discounts on agricultural machinery

Carré is silent about the insolvency on Facebook and instead promotes a 15% discount on its machines. And on the website, there is a notice that all machines are available for 10% less.

Carré is a family-owned company in the Vendée department of western France. Since 1938, the company has been producing equipment for soil preparation, sowing, and fertilization. It also offers a complete range of crop care products.

According to its own statements, Carré is a global pioneer in agricultural robotics with its weed control robot ANATIS.
