Improved flow, new technology in the cabin, and a modern control system characterize the 2025 version of the Varitron digger. We introduce you to the machine.
Better flow of goods, new cabin technology, and modern controls characterize the Varitron digger in the 2025 version. Let us introduce you to the machine.
Grimme presents the new generation of the two-row, self-propelled Varitron series. The focus of this optimization was on the new cabin with a revised control concept and various improvements along the flow of goods for harvesting vegetables and potatoes.
The new design is available for the VARITRON 220, VARITRON 270, and VARITRON 270 TERRA TRAC.
The new cabin with CCI 1200 and SmartView video system comes with ample legroom, slim pillars, and a 2-zone automatic climate control. The large front windshield allows an undisturbed view of the intake. A swivel leather seat complements the comfortable and intuitive operation via the large CCI 1200 with the Grimme Digital Interface (GDI).
All functions can be monitored with up to 13 cameras through the 12" display of the SmartView video system. The zoom and live slow-motion functions, along with the flexible layout, are part of the standard package.
Enhanced visibility at night and in poor weather is facilitated by the new LED lighting. For documenting harvest masses, the Varitron can now be equipped with an integrated mass mapping feature.
The addition of two SideView cameras eliminates blind spots at the rear of the machine.
To be able to use the new two-row Varitron models flexibly in various conditions, there is a quick-change system for swapping intake components. This greatly simplifies the variable use in different crops and is time-efficient.
The established concept of depth guidance remains with "TerraDisc" and "TerraControl." Standardized interfaces allow for quick changes, similar to what is already known from the four-row machines.
A switch between standardized intake components, such as swath intake or carrot shares, can be done quickly.
Improvements along the separating devices include a new spiral roller for the roller separator, where the material composition has been changed and the lip height almost doubled. This allows for increased passage for impurities, improved separation performance, and reduced wear.
The double separator device combined with a fine weed elevator is unique in this class of machines according to the manufacturer. Both the combination of double MultiSep and MultiSep with a roller separator are possible. The TwinSep can bridge the roller separator for a gentler harvest.
To eliminate potential blockages, all sieve belts, fine weed elevators, and ring elevators can be individually and conveniently reversed from the cabin.
Comfortable inspection area: The optional weather roof, with or without side panels, protects the inspection personnel in all weather conditions. The white roof tarp supports the safe identification of green tubers.
