Horizon expands DSX direct seeders with 3m and 4m models.

After the large 9 m versions of the DSX seed drills and MDSX attachment seeders, Horizon now presents small machines with 3 and 4 m working widths. However, they also have nice features.

Horizon Agriculture is expanding its range of DSX direct seed disk drills with smaller versions for farmers with smaller fields. The new 3 and 4-meter machines can be operated with a tractor ranging from 105 to 140 horsepower, achieving field performance of up to 2.5 hectares per hour.

These compact pulled machines, just like their larger counterparts, offer four row spacings ranging from 167 to 250 mm and come with the option to distribute fertilizer alongside the seeds.

At the core of all Horizon DSX attachments and MDSX mounted seed drills is a row unit with parallelogram guidance, hydraulic pressure control, and a single undercut opening disc.

Seed depth is regulated by a wheel at the level of the seed tube. Individual seed lock allows for wide row spacing and intercropping.

The 3-4 meter wide DSX is compact and highly maneuverable, making it ideal for smaller fields or areas with limited space, according to the manufacturer.

The customer can choose between row spacings of 16.7 cm, 18.7 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm.

Tank Configurations:

The new 3 and 4-meter machines can be equipped with a fully integrated 250-liter tank for fine seeds or microgranules. This tank is situated between the pressurized main tanks with capacities of 1,700 and 2,100 liters, with the latter expandable to 2,300 liters without additional containers.

Liquid fertilizer can be distributed from an optional 750-liter tank mounted on the rear of the seed drill with 560 mm or 750 mm wide transport wheels.

The DSX features a 4,000-liter main pressure tank divided 60/40. Each tank has its own dosing unit, allowing for selective seeding of two different products. The tanks are sealed with their own covers.

These new variants follow the previously introduced 9-meter versions of the DSX and MDSX.
