MAN engines are in high demand worldwide and are used in a variety of applications. The manufacturer will also be present at Agritechnica to showcase new models.

With the launch of the MAN eTrucks, electric mobility in MAN Truck & Bus commercial vehicles is gaining momentum. At the same time, the Business Unit MAN Engines continues to focus on combustion engines for use in agricultural machinery, ships, or power generation.

"Today and in the long term, we see the coexistence of various technologies among our diverse customer groups. Despite advances in battery technology, there will be applications where combustion engines are indispensable due to infrastructure, machinery design, or usage profiles not allowing alternatives. For these customers, we will continue to be the reliable partner and supplier of state-of-the-art drive technologies," says Werner Kuebler, Head of Engineering MAN Engines.

MAN Engines, as a Business Unit of MAN Truck & Bus, has benefited from constant new and further developments of the engine portfolio based on the latest technological advancements. This includes inline four- and six-cylinder engines as well as V8 and V12 engines ranging from five to 30 liters of displacement.

These engines are specifically designed for applications in power generation, agricultural and railway technology, and maritime applications. In addition, MAN Engines has included the MAN BatteryPack in its portfolio, marketed for both mobile machinery and stationary applications.

MAN Engines will also present innovations and updates to its off-road product portfolio at Agritechnica, which the company has been attending for many years. Additionally, the Business Unit MAN Engines will launch the MAN Smart HYBRID Experience, a hybrid system for marine applications, representing a significant step towards modern drive technologies.

"The current engine portfolio available to us is more modern and future-oriented than ever. Considering the long product life cycles in our business, we are ensuring the needs of all current and future customer groups are met in the long term," says Reiner Roessner, Head of Sales MAN Engines.

"The ongoing technical development and adaptation to the latest technological possibilities essentially enable us to continue developing on existing engine platforms to always meet the latest industry requirements and expectations," adds Werner Kuebler, Head of Engineering MAN Engines.

Furthermore, continuous improvements ensure that the engines always meet current emission requirements. MAN Engines also continues its years of research and development work on solutions for alternative drives and alternative fuels, offering customers the opportunity to operate their machinery and applications locally with reduced or even without CO2 emissions.

In addition to producing engines for the company's commercial vehicles and the Business Unit MAN Engines, the MAN Nuremberg site has also been consistently expanded towards electromobility in recent years. "This also means that on the path to transformation towards electromobility, we will still need very efficient combustion engines for a long time," says MAN CEO Alexander Vlaskamp.

With current investments in new battery production, battery development, and the production of the new CBE group engine, the site is well-positioned for all applications in the long term. In addition to these investments totaling nearly 500 million euros, research opportunities for alternative fuels and the refurbishment of MAN engines at the site are also being focused on.

"After several years of transformation, we are really well prepared to meet the current needs and future needs of all our customer groups," says Dr. Matthias Meindl, Head of Production Component at MAN Truck and Bus.
