Amazone introduces the spring ring roller FW 580 as a new trailing roller for the Cenio and Cenius mounted cultivators as well as the Catros mounted compact disc harrows.

Thanks to its open design with a line spacing of 200 mm and a narrow roller core, the roller with a total diameter of 580 mm is suitable for a wide range of applications, the company explains. The machine is said to work reliably on both sandy and loamy soils.

Reconsolidated fine soil

The FW 580 generates a lot of fine soil by continuously springing the rings and ensures deep reconsolidation while maintaining a loose soil surface. These features make it perfect for seedbed preparation, according to Amazone.

In addition, the closed rings reduce the carryover of soil and weed seeds. This contributes to improving field hygiene, especially when working on different surfaces.

Clean operation

Engineers highlight the good cleaning effect achieved by springing the rings. This ensures reliable operation even under wet and sticky soil conditions. With a small roller tube diameter of 140 mm, the roller provides good passage on light sandy locations. The arrangement of the rings ensures a reliable self-drive, Amazone states.

The optional spring-loaded clearing system provides additional functionality by keeping the spaces between the individual rings free. This effectively prevents the roller from sticking even under challenging soil conditions.

With optional harrow

The optional harrowing system ensures finer crumbling of the seedbed and supports the precise placement of seeds. Both systems also contribute to additional leveling on very light soils, promises Amazone.

Due to its low weight, the spring ring roller can be easily lifted by smaller tractors at both headlands and during road transport.
