A new band swather from a Canadian manufacturer is causing a stir. But what makes it so special? We reveal what makes it stand out.

A new band rake from a Canadian manufacturer is causing a stir. What makes it so special? We reveal what farmers should know about its operation and technical details.

The Canadian manufacturer Anderson is relatively unknown in Germany. With the Merge Pro, they are introducing a new band rake to the market. The key feature is an unguided pick-up, but that's not all. We'll explain the most important details.

The Canadian manufacturer Anderson has developed its first band rake. The Merge Pro 915 is now available in the German market. With the operation of a median swath, it achieves a working width of 9.15 m, while as a side swath, it manages 7.62 m plus swath width. The machine operates with an unguided pick-up compared to some competitor products. Additionally, the two units of band and pick-up are in transport position. The Canadian manufacturer also offers another model, the Merge Pro 1060, with a working width of 10.67 m.

The Anderson Merge Pro 915 works with an unguided pick-up.

Technical details of the Merge Pro 915:

- Working width median swath: 9.15 m

- Working width side swath: 7.62 m + swath width

- Pick-up width: 3.81 m each

- Band width: 0.92 m

- Pick-up function: unguided

- Hydraulic system: onboard hydraulics, 360 l

- Tires: 560/45R 22.5

- Empty weight: 5 t

- Transport width, height: 2.53 m, 3.47 m

Operators control the band direction and speed of the Merge Pro 915 directly from the cabin using a clear interface on the rake. While Anderson does use sensors, they reduce their use compared to the competition. In total, ten sensors mainly capture hydraulic values and PTO speed, as well as the positions of the bands.

In the market for band rakes, the Anderson Merge Pro 915 competes with models like the Pöttinger Mergento VT 9220, Reiter Respiro R9, and Kuhn Merge Maxx 9500. In Germany, the Merge Pro 915 is exclusively distributed by MSO Landmaschinen.
