International milk prices continue to rise

The average price for dairy products at the "Global Dairy Trade" trading platform has increased significantly by 4.6% to $4,516 per ton. The highest price increase was seen in lactose.

The average price across all products and time periods on the international trading platform "Global Dairy Trade" has shown a clear increase this week. The price has risen by 4.6% to $4,516 per ton. This has led to the Global Dairy Trade price index increasing to 1,344 points.

Almost all products have seen an increase in price. The following products experienced a price increase: lactose (+16.8% to $1,611 per ton), butter (+3.8% to $7,992 per ton), skim milk powder (+0.5% to $2,828 per ton), buttermilk powder (+6.2% to $3,060 per ton), whole milk powder (+6.2% to $4,374 per ton), cheddar cheese (+12.0% to $5,519 per ton), and butter oil (+5.4% to $7,212 per ton). Only mozzarella saw a price decrease (-0.3% to $4,752 per ton).

The traded volume was at a similar level of 16,714 tons compared to the auction on April 15 (16,718 tons). The auction takes place every two weeks.
