According to the British newspaper Lancashire Telegraph, a young couple made a creepy discovery in their farmhouse. The two recently bought the 450-year-old farm in the village of Fence in the parish of Old Laund Booth in England to renovate it. However, they stumbled upon a horrifying past. They found the bones of a woman in the walls. Additionally, they realized that a convicted murderer had lived next door.

Rural Farmhouse: Bones and Witch Bottle Found

Emmie and Norton fulfilled a dream by buying a farmhouse in the countryside. They immediately got to work to restore the farm. Due to mold infestation, they had to redo the walls. The couple chiseled off the exterior plaster themselves - and made a gruesome discovery. Bones were found in the wall. After the initial shock, Emmie found out that bones were once inserted into walls to ward off evil, as she told the newspaper. In total, six bones were hidden in the house. One of them was presumably a human finger bone - the rest were from animals, as they explained to the Lancashire Telegraph.

They also found a mysterious green bottle filled with ash and herbs. Both were supposed to ward off evil spirits. But that wasn't all. The couple also discovered during their research that a notorious murderer had lived in the mansion next door. However, Emmie and Norton were not discouraged by any of this. They now plan to display some of the bones. However, they have reinserted some of them back into the wall, as they revealed to the newspaper. These bones belonged to the house after all, the young woman believes.
