British farmers protest in front of the BBC for more coverage.

From the farmers' perspective, the BBC does not provide sufficient information about the dramatic developments in the British agricultural industry and agricultural policy that could mean the end for hundreds of farms.

From the perspective of farmers, the BBC does not adequately inform about the dramatic developments in the British agricultural industry and policies that could mean the end for hundreds of farms.

Approximately 40 tractors gathered outside the BBC South office in Southampton on April 30 to protest against what they see as poor coverage by the broadcaster on agricultural issues. The organization Farmers to Action (FTA) called for this demonstration.

Specifically, farmers lack information about the upcoming agricultural inheritance tax (IHT), the sudden closure of the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme for new applicants, and the financial pressure from supermarket trading practices.

Members of the FTA argue that these issues have devastating effects on the future of British agriculture and the mental health of farmers, but the BBC does not adequately inform the public about them.
