The agricultural machinery manufacturer Oxbo builds self-propelled manure spreaders. Equipped with a cultivator, the machines can spread manure directly after plowing.
Oxbo, the agricultural machinery manufacturer, produces self-propelled manure spreaders. Equipped with a cultivator, these machines can incorporate solid manure directly after spreading. This is intended to provide similar benefits to those already widely seen with liquid manure.
Oxbo is now offering the option to attach a cultivator to their self-propelled manure spreaders to facilitate the immediate incorporation of manure after spreading. Incorporating solid manure directly remains a technical challenge. The addition of a cultivator aims to reduce nitrogen losses and odors, similar to the benefits seen in liquid manure spreading.
Oxbo's AT5105 is a self-propelled manure spreader designed to spread solid manure. When equipped with a cultivator, it can work the manure into the soil immediately after spreading.
Oxbo, a globally active agricultural machinery manufacturer based in the Netherlands, specializes in producing machines for specialty crops. In Germany, the company is well known for its self-propelled liquid manure spreaders. Until recently, the brand name Ploeger was more common until the decision was made to unify the brand under the name Oxbo. The AT5105 is a five-year-old self-propelled machine manufactured by Oxbo that can handle both liquid and solid manure. To incorporate solid manure immediately after spreading, Oxbo now offers the option to attach a cultivator directly behind the spreader.
The cultivator attached to the self-propelled machine works the manure directly into the soil after spreading. This process aims to reduce nitrogen losses and odors, similar to liquid manure spreading. Additionally, it eliminates the need for a second step or another pass, which helps to preserve the soil.
Photos show the AT5105 equipped with a 6-meter cultivator from Treffler. The solid manure spreader, with a capacity of 25 tons, is manufactured by Tebbe, a company based in Lower Saxony. Oxbo provides its self-propelled machine with a hitch for towed cultivators. The company did not specify the types of attachments available. During spreading, the manure partially falls onto the drawbar. The spreader cannot achieve the maximum spreading width of up to 18 meters but instead must distribute the manure in a narrower pattern.
