In Germany, approximately 30% of cattle are now vaccinated against the Bluetongue disease. The highest vaccination rates are found in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.

The total vaccination rate of all cattle in Germany against Bluetongue disease is 3.2 million or just under 30% (as of March 17, 2025). These figures are based on data from the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute. Vaccinated animals are counted regardless of whether they have only been vaccinated once or multiple times.

The highest vaccination rates are in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia at around 39%, as well as in Schleswig-Holstein at around 34% of all cattle. In Bavaria, the vaccination rate was just under 16% in mid-March.
