Ikea sells its own balcony power plant for self-assembly.

From this week on, Ikea stores will offer a DIY balcony solar power kit for a small price. It comes with a portable battery included.

Balcony solar power systems are becoming increasingly popular, and even discount stores now offer various models at affordable prices through their online shops. Surprisingly, the Swedish furniture giant Ikea is now entering the market.

According to media reports, Ikea is set to start selling its own balcony solar power system this week on a large scale and at "absolute bargain prices." The balcony solar power systems from the "EcoFlow Stream" product line, offered by Ikea in collaboration with the Swedish market leader "Svea Solar," can be easily assembled by customers in just a few steps. Ikea has already presented the product on its website.

"The most affordable complete offer"

The basic solution costs €1,229. Customers with the "Family" loyalty card are said to receive a 15% discount. Ikea claims to offer the most affordable complete package for ready-to-use balcony solar power systems in the German market.

The assembly can be done without any handyman or technical knowledge. No permits are required except for registration in the Market Master Data Register (MaStR) of the Federal Network Agency.

Even the basic model with 1,200 watts of output power and app control is deemed sufficient by Ikea to operate larger household appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers independently of the grid. A special feature is the portable battery that can be connected in series and used to draw power directly.

However, solar energy is not entirely new for Ikea. The company has long been offering large rooftop systems in partnership with the company Svea Solar, divided into various packages. More information can be found here...
